These Terms and Conditions apply to the Family Day Cook-off (the “Cook-off”). Please read them carefully. By participating in the Family Day Cook-off, you are agreeing to abide by these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions do not provide any warranties for the Family Day Cook-off, and they also limit Green Hart Farms’ liability. Entrants (“You”, “Your”) refers to individuals who enter the Cook-off by filling out a Cook-off sign up form either on our website or on social media.
These Terms and Conditions may change from time to time without prior notice and at Green Hart Farms’ sole discretion.
Sponsor: Green Hart Farms (“We”, “Us)
Dates: The Family Day Cook-off (Cook-off) takes place on Monday February 21, 2022 between 8am and 10pm, and the secret ingredients will be revealed via email on Thursday at 7pm EST. Voting takes place between Tuesday February 22, 2022 and Thursday February 24, 2022.
Eligibility: Only residents of Ontario, Canada who are 18 years of age or older are eligible to enter. Families are encouraged to participate, however, a parent/guardian over the age of 18 must enter on behalf of any contestants who are minors.
All entrants must sign up for the Cook-off using one of Family Day Cook-off signup forms posted at this URL: https://greenhartfarms.ca/family-day-cook-off/ or posted on social media. Alternately, you may enter by opting in on the CSA Week Celebration sign-up form.
To Participate:
- On Monday, February 21, 2022 prepare 1 dish that features 1 or more of the ‘secret ingredients’. This dish must be prepared (including cooking time) within a 120 min time frame. Then take a picture of the dish and upload to the Cook-off page using the link provided. Include an ingredients list, the name of the dish, and preparation steps.
- All entries MUST be uploaded between 8AM and 10PM EST on Monday February 21, 2022 to count.
- To be complete, entries must include the ingredients list, name of the dish, and preparation steps. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.
- By entering this Cook-Off, you certify that any media or text uploaded by you is owned solely by you and does not infringe on copyrights of any type. Do not copy recipes that are posted online or in cookbooks and which do not belong to you!
- Vote on your favourite dish during the voting period between 8am EST on Tuesday Feb 22, 2022 and Thursday Feb 24, 2022 at 12pm EST .
- Entries that are incomplete, obvious copies of previous entries, or which contain content that is not original (for example, screen shots of a recipe website) will be disqualified at our sole discretion.
How the Winner Is Selected
Entrants will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite entries between Tuesday Feb 22, 2022 and Thursday Feb 24, 2022 on the contest page (a link will be provided via email). The entrant who uploaded the entry with the most votes (as determined by us) will be declared ‘Cook-off Champion’, and our favourite entry will be the winner of the ‘Farmer’s Favourite’.
The winner and the winning entry will be announced via email , on our social media pages and/or on the Cook-off web page on or around Friday February 25, 2022.
Prizes

The Prize(s) must be accepted as awarded and may not be substituted or redeemed for cash. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equivalent monetary value if the Prize, or part thereof, cannot be awarded as described, for any reason. We will not replace any lost or stolen Prize.
The Cook-off winners will be contacted via email with instructions for claiming their prizes within 7 days of the winners being announced. Should the selected entrants fail to acknowledge receipt of these instructions within 2 business days, we reserve the right to cancel the prizes and/or award them to other entrants.
Right to Void/Suspend/Modify
Green Hart Farms reserves the right to terminate, suspend or modify this Contest, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice or obligation.
Limitation of Liability and Releases
By participating in this Contest, entrants agree that Green Hart Farms and its authorized agents have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by entrants against, any liability for any injuries (including death), losses or damages of any kind (including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages) to persons or property resulting from the Contest or the Prizes, including the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the Prizes.
Further, by participating in this Contest, entrants agree that Green Hart Farms and its authorized agents, Facebook, and Instagram have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by entrants against, any liability for any injuries (including death), losses or damages of any kind (including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages) to persons or property resulting from:
- a) entry or participation in this Contest, including access to and use of the Green Hart Farms website, or
- b) any claims based on personality or privacy rights or defamation.
Without limiting the foregoing,Green Hart Farms, its employees, owners, and/or contractors shall not be responsible for
a) failure of any e-mail, any Contest entry, any Facebook, Instagram and/or direct messages to be received by or from Green Hart Farms for any reason, including but not limited to traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof or technical incompatibility;
b) any incomplete or inaccurate information that is caused by entrants, Green Hart Farms’ website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Cook-off, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions in the Cook-off;
Publicity/Media Release
By entering the Cook-off, you authorize Green Hart Farms to use any media (including text and images) that you’ve uploaded to the Cook-off ( collectively, “Your Media”) in all forms including but not limited to, publication on print media, digital media, the Internet, social media sites, media releases and broadcasts, without further notification. You understand that you will not be compensated for participation in such activities and will seek no payment.
You understand that Green Hart Farms cannot control unauthorized use of Your Media by persons not associated with Green Hart Farms once it has been published. By entering the Cook-off, you forever waive any right to inspect or approve any publication of Your Media by Green Hart Farms and you forever release and waive any and all claims you may have or ever have against Green Hart Farms, its owners, employees, agents, assigns and legal representatives for the use of Your Media.
You also authorize Green Hart Farms to use your name and/or statement regarding the Prize without any compensation, in announcements connected to the Cook-off on social media or other media that we judge appropriate.
By entering the Cook-off, you certify that you have carefully reviewed and understand the above provisions and agree to be bound by them.
General
The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Terms and Conditions shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any provision of the Terms and Conditions is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then the Terms and Conditions shall be construed as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein.
This Contest is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada. Each entrant agrees, to the extent permitted by law, that any judicial proceedings relating to any disputes, claims or causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Contest shall take place in the Province of Ontario pursuant to the laws of that province.
This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Instagram.

The decisions by Green Hart Farms with respect to all aspects of the Family Day Cook-off are final.
