The Weekly Veggie Delivery from Your Local Farmers.

Delivery days

First Spring 2023 deliveries are planned for the week of May 24, 2023. Some Biweekly shares will start on week 2. We may have to delay first deliveries by 1 week if it’s too cold. Either way, we’ll run for 16 weeks.

  • K-W: Wednesday late mornings/afternoons
  • Cambridge/Stratford/New Hamburg/Baden: Thursday afternoons/ evenings
  • Farm pickup: Thursday evenings from 4-7pm

It’s more than just a veggie delivery. . .

When you join our veggie box program, you

  • Support local and keep your food $$ in our community
  • Make a commitment to yourself to eat healthy (you won’t want to throw out those veggies!)
  • Have the opportunity to know the story behind your food.
  • Help your kids develop healthy eating habits
  • Get to try new things (purple kohlrabi, anyone?)
  • Taste the difference! Our veggies have flavour!

Who’s it for???

Our veggie box program is a great way to eat healthy and get connected to your food. . .but it’s not for everyone. . .

This is for you if. . .

  • You value a relationship with your farmers, and you care about where your food comes from.
  • You’re willing to learn to eat with the seasons (don’t worry- we’ll help you with recipe ideas and menu planning tips) There are going to be lots of greens in the spring, followed by fresh root veggies, then summer veggies in the summer. You won’t get tomatoes in May, or radishes in late July.
  • You value fresh, flavourful ingredients– frankly if you just want the ‘best deal’ on tomatoes, you are better off shopping at Walmart or No Frills. Our membership is just as much about the experience as the produce. Oh, and our veggies have real flavour, too : )
  • You are open to trying new veggies and over all being adventurous in the kitchen. (Spanish Radishes, anyone?)
  • You have a bit of time for menu planning and food prep (If you normally eat out all of the time, this might not be the best fit for you)
  • You are not going to be away for more than 4 weeks over the summer.

This is NOT for you if. . .

  • It doesn’t matter where your food comes from, as long as it’s there.
  • You don’t want to adjust to eating what’s in season. You couldn’t live without tomatoes in May and arugula in August.
  • You are just looking for cheap.
  • You are not into switching it up with new recipes and trying new foods. If you are just a ‘meat and potatoes’ type of person and you just want to stick with what you know, then this probably isn’t for you.
  • You have absolutely no time for menu planning and food prep. By nature, veggies take a bit of time to prep even if you are just making salads for the week.
  • You are going to be away a lot this spring/summer.
  • You are looking for a bulk deal– If you are wanting lots of veggies for canning/freezing, contact us about canning volumes instead.

You can taste the freshness immediately! We really enjoy receiving the farm fresh veggies the past 2 years. The bi-weekly order is just right for the two of us. Not only have we been enjoying our regular items but it's great to try new foods. Greenhart Farms is easy to deal with and our food deliveries have always been prompt for our delivery time. Looking forward to Spring 2023 to receive our fresh veggies again!

I just finished my first spring/summer and fall CSA program with Green Hart Farms and couldn't be more pleased. I never once had issue with the quality of the vegetables and learned how to cook and eat a lot of new ones. I very much appreciate that I get to choose what comes to me so I know what to expect and to avoid food waste. It was also very easy to skip weeks by simply not placing my order and this also allowed me to bank my points for larger orders later on. I'll certainly be signing up again next year.

Highly recommend Green Hart Farms! This is our third year with the spring/summer delivery and the second year receiving the fall veggies - well worth it to continue the fresh and amazing quality of produce they grow. Kendra and Linda are always quick to support you with answers, tips, recipes etc. Exciting to try some vegetables new to us, such as red nappa, komatsuna and black radishes. There is always a good variety to pick from and it is all local from a wonderful family farm!

I have been a member of the Veggie box program for a couple of years now and I have been very happy with the produce. The veggies from the farm are tastier and fresher than from the grocer and they last a lot longer too. Great value for your money and you get to support your local farmers.

Hartshare Veggie Box FAQ’s

We deliver to Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Stratford, New Hamburg, and Baden Ontario. Farm pickup is also available if you are not in our delivery areas. (Our farm is located just outside New Hamburg, Ont)

Not a problem! You absolutely can skip a week. Just let us know at least 1 week in advance (or 2, if possible). We’ll make sure that we have extra veggies for you in the future.

Alternately, you could arrange for a friend to take your veggies for a week. If your friend is in our delivery area, we could even deliver to their door. Just contact us ahead of time ( :

For the first few weeks in the spring, expect lots of greens supplemented with root veggies from storage. As the season gets underway, we’ll have fresh beets, turnips, and carrots with tops, and peas, followed by summer veggies such as cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers (peppers usually aren’t until late July/early August).

We always try to have a good mix to choose from.

We accept E-transfer as well as all major debit and credit cards on our website. If you would prefer to pay via cash or cheque, please contact us in advance. Please note that your veggie box membership will not be reserved until payment is received (either full payment or your first payment if you choose a payment plan).

Your veggies will arrive packed in an insulated cooler bag (except for your very last delivery day, when they will be packed in paper bags or cardboard boxes). So if you are just going to be away for a short time, they should be fine.

However, on a hot day or if you will be away more than 1 hour, just leave a cooler (or a rubbermaid tub with ice and a towel) out on your porch/by your door/ etc.  And add a note to your order letting the delivery folks know where it is (there’s a box for special notes on the checkout page).   Please note that we cannot be responsible for your share after it is delivered.

If you have to cancel your veggie box membership, please let us know 2 weeks in advance if possible. We can provide you with a refund for the deliveries that you have paid for but not yet received.

Unless there is complete devastation, the answer is yes. To reduce this risk, we also source from other local farmers. There won’t be the same variety to choose from, but we’ll make sure that you get something.

There are a few things we’ve changed to make our program better:

-Strawberries will no longer be included (due to quality issues) But we may have some kind of strawberry day instead, depending on interest.

-There will be a minimum order size so that you don’t end up with a ton of points at the end of the season. But you WILL still have the flexibility to order more veggies one week and less another week if you want.

-We’ve moved! Farm pickups in 2022 will be at 1659 Line 41, New Hamburg. It’s just a couple blocks away from our old location on line 37.
