Kale-Redbor

Easy to grow! This is a  tall plant with dark red frilly leaves, which are not only good eating, but add colour to a fall garden.  After a frost, the leaves turn darker (and sweeter!).  Grow it in full sun and fertile soil.  You can start harvesting the leaves as soon as the plant is about 1ft tall; and keep harvesting even into the winter.  These plants are quite cold hardy.  If you grow kale outside, you may want to cover the plants to prevent flea beetle damage.  (3-1/2in pots)
