Roma Tomatoes- Half Bushel

1/2 bushel. These are the best tomatoes for making tomato sauce and canning.  Unlike other types of tomatoes, they have more ‘meat’ and less ‘juice’.  This means that you won’t have to boil them nearly as long if you’re making a sauce.  They are good for making salsa or freezing too.  To freeze them, simply wash, run through a blender/food processor, and fill your freezer containers.

1/2 bushel is roughly 25lbs or 18 quarts.

Tomato pickup is available at our farm on Wednesday Oct 19 (4-7pm), and Thursday Oct 20 (4-7pm).   Our address is 1659 line 41, New Hamburg.
